Warranty & Repairs Policy

At Teknik Tools, we design and manufacture workshop-grade equipment built for durability, safety, and long-term use. Our products are not disposable — they are designed to be used, repaired, and upgraded over time.

This page explains our warranty coverage and our paid repair & refurbishment service.

Product Warranty

All Teknik Tools products are covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery, unless otherwise stated.

The warranty covers:

  • manufacturing defects
  • faulty welds
  • material defects
  • structural failures under normal, intended use

If a valid warranty claim is approved, Teknik Tools will, at its discretion:

  • repair the product
  • replace the product
  • or refund the purchase price if repair or replacement is not feasible

What the Warranty Does NOT Cover

The warranty does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear
  • cosmetic damage (scratches, scuffs, chips)
  • surface rust caused by improper care or storage
  • damage caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence
  • overloading beyond the product’s rated capacity
  • unauthorised modifications or third-party repairs
  • accidental damage or improper transport

Powder-coated finishes may show wear over time in workshop environments — this is considered normal use and is not covered under warranty.

Intended Use & Load Ratings

Teknik Tools products are designed for workshop and garage environments.

Customers are responsible for:

  • using products as intended
  • adhering to stated load ratings
  • ensuring correct setup and safe operation

Failure to do so may void the warranty.

Custom & Made-to-Order Products

Custom-made products, including:

  • custom colours
  • modified designs
  • made-to-order configurations

are covered only for manufacturing defects and are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

Repair & Refurbishment Service (Out of Warranty / Wear & Tear)

Because our products are built to last, we offer a paid repair and refurbishment service for products that are:

  • out of warranty
  • damaged through normal wear and tear
  • cosmetically worn
  • in need of upgrades or re-customisation

Repairable work may include:

  • welding and structural repairs
  • replacement of worn components
  • castor or hardware replacement
  • re-powder coating or colour changes
  • accessory additions or upgrades
  • approved modifications

This service allows customers to extend the life of their equipment rather than replacing it.

Repair & Customisation Process

To request a repair or refurbishment:

1. Email mayur@teknikindustries.com with:

  • your order number (if available)
  • photos of the product
  • a description of the damage or requested changes

2. We will assess the request and provide:

  • a repair recommendation
  • an estimated cost
  • an estimated turnaround time

3. Once approved:

  • the product is shipped to us (customer covers shipping to us)
  • repairs and/or customisation are completed
  • the product is returned to the customer

Costs & Payments for Repairs

  • Repair and refurbishment services are not free
  • Costs depend on:
    • extent of damage
    • labour required
    • materials and finishes
  • Payment is required before work begins, unless otherwise agreed
  • Return shipping costs are quoted separately

Repairs We Cannot Perform

We reserve the right to decline repairs if:

  • the product is structurally unsafe beyond repair
  • damage is caused by severe misuse or modification
  • the product has been altered by third parties
  • repair would compromise safety or integrity

In such cases, we may recommend replacement or alternative solutions.

Repair Workmanship Warranty

All approved repairs are covered by a 3-month workmanship warranty, limited to the specific repair work performed.

This does not reset or extend the original product warranty.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Teknik Tools is not liable for indirect or consequential damages
  • Liability is limited to the original purchase price of the product

This policy does not affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.
